Iris Apfel small Handbag
Iris Apfel, born 1921 - restorer, interior designer, decorator, fabric designer, and above all, New York socialite and style icon. Iris founded the interior design and textile company Old World Weavers with her husband Carl and went on to complete decorating projects for nine presidents of the United States. “Old World” means that she designed fabrics that were woven using traditional techniques. The couple’s mutual passions for travel and great collections of art launched them on quests to purchase pieces for specific projects or to enrich their own personal collection, which can still be seen today. Iris was a fixture of New York high society but she always said ‘the important thing is not the party, but how you dress for the party.’ To this day, she mixes and overlaps styles and fabrics with exquisite taste, sometimes colorful, sometimes more sober, but showing off maximalism that very few can pull off. Her style is hers alone. The Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York invited her to create an exhibit of her clothing in 2005 that was attended by luminaries of the fashion world. She selected the outfits and dressed the mannequins herself. From that moment on, she’s been considered a style prescriber, and she’s been doing her own thing ever since.
Handmade in London from napa leather and satin. The Lola Menta illustration is printed on a very smooth satin fabric, which is attached to the cut pieces of leather. The interior is lined with quality synthetic suede and has two pockets, one of them with a zipper to store your valuables. Its two super sturdy handles allow you to carry it on your shoulder, or in the purest Victoria Beckham style. We’ve added a double pressure closure for more security, and we’ve put four feet at the base so that it doesn’t suffer when you put it down. This model is 29x21x7 centimeters of pure authenticity for this fearless women's collection.
